Leah O’Donnell, CPA
“One of my favorite things about working at LS&Z is the culture of collaboration. When I first started my career, I didn’t expect the amount of teamwork that goes into accounting. Because of this value of cooperation, I have gained exposure to different types of engagements. While I am primarily a tax accountant, the Partners have been very supportive in allowing me to work in other areas of accounting. Every day is a little different than the last, and I am always given the opportunity to learn new things from our Partners and experienced staff who are so willing to teach. But LS&Z doesn’t just encourage you in your professional life. Everyone here is invested not only in your professional career but also in your personal growth. We all encourage each other in different areas of life, whether it be being promoted to a new position in the Firm, being involved in kids’ sporting events, or going through personal life changes. We enjoy each other’s company, and it makes me want to come to work each day.
While I was recently reviewing a tax notice for a family member, they stopped me and said, “I just have to say, I can tell you really love this” People who aren’t accountants don’t always understand the draw to the field, but someone who was just watching me work could see how much I enjoy it. Being a member of the LS&Z team is a big part of that.”
