LCS&Z Holds Community Work Day to Benefit Regional Food Bank

Latham, NY – The certified public accounting firm of LCS&Z recently held its community work day, benefitting the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.

“We are delighted to assist the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, as we strongly support its mission and goals,” said Bill Zeronda, CPA and partner at LCS&Z. “At LCS&Z, we have a long tradition of involvement and dedication when it comes to giving back to our community. We highly encourage our team members to take an active role in serving local not-for-profits.”

The team at LCS&Z worked primarily at the Patroon Land Farm in Knox, which grows produce that is distributed to food banks in the area. Twenty-two staff members participated in the community work day, doing everything from picking tomatoes and eggplants, to planting lettuce and spinach, to sorting and cleaning tomatoes for shipment. In all, team members contributed over 120 labor-intensive man hours.

The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York collects large donations of food from the food industry and distributes it to agencies serving the hungry in 23 surrounding counties. It provides over 25 million pounds of food a year to 1,000 agencies. For more information about the organization, visit www.regionalfoodbank.net
