LCS&Z Team Members Attend AICPA’s Employee Benefit Plan Conference

Three members of LCS&Z’s employee benefit plan audit team recently attended the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) Employee Benefit Plan Conference in Nashville. During the event, Managing Partner Bill Lutz, CPA, Partner Jeff Klahr, CPA, and Senior Associate Evan Chamberas, CPA had the opportunity to attend professional development seminars on topics such as best practices, plan audit and accounting updates, as well as hear from representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor and the Internal Revenue Service regarding the latest developments in Employee Benefit Plans.

“It’s important to constantly be in pursuit of continued education in the accounting industry, especially in the area of employee benefit plan audits,” said Klahr. “We’re grateful that organizations such as the AICPA’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center exist and provide such valuable resources to CPAs and other accounting professionals.”

The AICPA established the member-based Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center to raise awareness about the importance of employee benefit plan audits and to help firms meet the challenges of performing quality audits. As a member, LCS&Z has access to EBPA best practices, guidelines, and the most up-to-date tools needed to maintain a high level of technical expertise and innovation.
