On Thursday, July 20th, LCS&Z, L.L.P. team members rolled up their sleeves for the firm’s 5th Annual Community Day! Partners and staff spent the day volunteering at the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York where they sorted donations to be distributed to soup kitchens, food pantries, emergency shelters, and other agencies.
The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York was established in 1982 with a mission to “alleviate hunger and prevent food waste.” The organization collects donated food items from the food industry and distributes the items to charitable agencies serving hungry and disadvantaged people. Additionally, the Regional Food Bank operates a farm that grows fresh, high quality vegetables, which are then donated to over 1,000 agencies across 23 different counties. Each year, The Food Bank distributes more than 30 million pounds of food in an effort to fight hunger.
